I love this girl. She is an amazing sister — always ready and willing to serve. Happy Birthday, Annie!
Ok, I admit it, I still listen to Adventures in Odyssey. I love Odyssey. I love this album, The Search for Whit. I am a little upset about the new Whit, Andre Stojka. I loved Paul Herlinger as Whit. Oh well. My little brother and I are sitting here listening to one and enjoying the thunderstorm. He keeps me updated on the world of sports and the world of Odyssey.
As you gave the ring to one another and have now
received it a second time from the hand of the pastor,
so love comes from you, but marriage from above,
from God. As high as God is above man,
so high are the sanctity, the rights, and the promise of love.
It is not your love that sustains the marriage,
but from now on, the marriage that sustains your love.
I’m a couple of weeks late on this one…BUT, Congratulations to my dear parents on their 25th anniversary! I feel so blessed to be wishing them well on this sweet and beautiful occasion. All throughout my lifetime I have known that their marriage was rock solid and something that I could count on as being constant. I knew this not because they were such perfect people and never fought or disagreed on anything, but because I knew without a shadow of a doubt that they relied not on their own strength, but on Christ and that they begged for grace everyday. I knew that they understood the gospel and that they understood forgiveness. As a child this was so comforting. They modeled the gospel in their marriage and in the way that they raised us. I am forever grateful to them for living this out in our home and demonstrating a godly marriage to us. I know I have been so blessed to be raised in their home and be taught what is good and lovely and praiseworthy. I have watched them walk through so many different circumstances and see God’s grace so clearly in their lives. I am thankful for his sustaining grace and mercy in their lives and to our family. God is good.
Though the fig tree should not blossom,
nor fruit be on the vines,
the produce of the olive fail
and the fields yield no food,
the flock be cut off from the fold
and there be no herd in the stalls,
yet I will rejoice in the Lord;
I will take joy in the God of my salvation.
God, the Lord, is my strength;
he makes my feet like the deer’s;
he makes me tread on my high places.
This past weekend mom, Annie and I headed down to Raleigh for my uncle’s fiancé’s bridal shower. It was lovely. My aunt and I decided we wanted to go skydiving and are planning an excursion for her 30th birthday in a year. I can’t wait…kind of hoping we can do it early. Here are some pictures that Anne took with her new camera…Oh yeah and the sangria was really good.
